Founded in June 2005 as the first independent private equity fund (PEF) management company in Korea, our company has led the industry by conducting significant management buyout investments. After separating and transferring our buyout business to VIG Partners, our company obtained official registration as a specialized private-fund asset management company in early 2016. This milestone has empowered us to provide a wide range of alternative investment products to our Korean investor community.
Since then, we have been providing diverse alternative investment asset management services, primarily targeting prominent Korean institutional investors. Our clientele includes pension funds, credit unions, commercial banks, securities firms, insurance companies, and the central cooperative federations. Currently, we hold investment commitments totaling KRW 19 trillion (or USD 13 billion) with assets under management (AUM) exceeding KRW 12 trillion (or USD 8 billion). This places us at the forefront of the domestic private fund management industry in terms of AUM.
Our global alternative investment business group, which represents the majority of our fund asset management, strives to offer differentiated global alternative investment opportunities to domestic investors in areas such as real estate, infrastructure, private debt, and overseas private equity investments through trusted and close collaboration with overseas asset management companies and advisory firms with proven track records in the field. In addition, in the hedge fund sector, we also offer Korean-style hedge fund investment products such as IPO funds, Kosdaq venture funds, and non-performing loan investment funds, pursuing stable returns for accredited Korean investors.
